North Memphis comprises smaller neighborhoods, including Binghampton and Berclair/Highland Heights, where you’ll find a mix of quirky retro eateries and family-friendly parks, as well as the beloved Broad Avenue. Located just a short 11-minute drive from St. Jude, North Memphis is an emerging district with community, culture, and reinvention at its center. The 18-month renovation of the 22,000-square-foot Gaisman Park, located in Berclair, was a community initiative that will result in an elevated walking track, fitness center, community room, game room, art space, and a small conference room once it opens in the fall of 2023. The Society Skatepark and Coffee is a combination full-scale skatepark and coffee shop, popular with young kids and parents alike. And for the nature seekers looking for a place to canoe, kayak, or paddle board, there’s the Wolf River Conservancy winding its way through 100 miles of majestic forests.
